PS 01 56 surprised us by producing twin bulls on 9 October 2010. She would not accept both calves, so one is in foster care with Dave Cawthorn, of Horseshoe Tulis in Stutterheim.

Their names are Boet(E 10 4) and Swaer(E 10 5). Their sire is DT 07 21, the son of AJR 90 06 and ADM 04 33.

Our second Eagle’s View heifer is Suede(E 09 2), born on 3 November 2009. She is a typical light gold Tuli colour. Her dam is DT 06 4 and her sire DT 07 13.
Our youngest calf for 2009 is Velvet(E 09 3), the dark red daughter of DT 05 2. She was born on 10 November 2009. Her sire is DT 07 13.

The light red heifer who has outshone all the others is DT 09 9, our fifth calf, also born on Spekboom farm on 20 October 2009 – the day of Tom’s sale!! She has such a regal bearing that her name is Princess!! Her dam is PS 01 56 and her sire is ADM 04 33.
The first calf to be born at Eagle’s View, on 2 November 2009, is Lily (E 09 1), the light red daughter of our oldest cow, Blom(SW 997). Her sire is ADM 04 33. She is showing signs of being a very good cow indeed and we trust she will follow in her mum’s illustrious footsteps.

The third calf, a sturdy red heifer, DT 09 5 was also born on Spekboom farm on 12 October 2009. Her dam is DT 04 15 and her sire is DT 07 13. She is also very tame and has even allows me to pluck bont-ticks in the veld.
The fourth calf, a sturdy red bull, DT 09 8, was also born on Spekboom farm on 19 October 2009. His dam is DT 05 10, who is a daughter of the renowned cow AJR 90 06. His sire is DT 07 13. He has an easy temperament and has been dehorned.

We welcomed 8 calves (2 bulls and 6 heifers) to Eagle’sView during the calving season of 2009. The oldest of these is a red heifer, DT 09 2. She was born on 28 September 2009 on Spekboom farm before Tom van Rensburg sold her to us. Her dam is DT 04 5 and her sire is DT 07 13.
Our second calf, DT 09 4 is a light-coloured polled bull with a patch on his side. He was born on 14 October 2009 on Spekboom farm. His dam is PS 01 62 and the sire ADM 04 33. He is very tame and comes forward for a scratch when he sees us.
